SUMMARY

Brooklyn Basketball brings the Brooklyn Nets and New York Liberty together to establish a community-first basketball experience. Our goal is to grow the game for participants of all ages through professionally-led clinics and camps, community-focused events, instructional videos, unique basketball content and much more. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Manager. This role will own and manage the planning, preparations and execution of programs at the Brooklyn Basketball Training Center.

The Program Manager will report to the Director of Basketball.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead all aspects of the day-to-day operations and logistics of Brooklyn Basketball programs, events and activities at the Brooklyn Basketball Training Center.
  • Collaborate with Operations on the use and scheduling of the Training Center, including equipment and resource allocation.
  • Work with Head Coach to ensure adequate staffing coverage for all programs, events and activities.
  • Develop and maintain efficient operational processes to ensure smooth program delivery and the proper maintenance of the training environment and facilities, aligned to quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Basketball to ensure all program activities at the Training Center adhere to youth safety protocols and guidelines; develop and implement program-related incidents protocols and reports.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, participants, and staff regarding operational matters at the Training Center.
  • Foster positive relationships with participants, parents, and other partners. Develop and implement communication strategies to keep all parties informed and engaged.
  • Collect and analyze feedback from participants, parents, and staff to evaluate program effectiveness. Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance program quality.
  • Support the Director of Business Operations with LeagueApps account with a focus on programs at the Training Center; support administrative tasks such as registration, payments, and player record-keeping.
  • Support the Director of Business Operations with management and maintenance of basketball technology at the Training Center.
  • Handle any program-related issues, disputes, or emergencies in a timely and professional manner.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3-5 years of increasing responsibilities within youth sports program management, operations, and/or project management.
  • Prior playing, coaching, league or team administration experience.
  • Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals and coaching strategies.
  • Experience supervising and mentoring direct reports, fostering career development and growth opportunities through department and individual goal setting.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale basketball events and/or programs for a multinational or matrixed organization.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

SALARY RANGE

$80,000 - $95,000 base salary

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • May be required to work weekends or nights as needed.
  • May be required to travel on rare occasions (<5% travel)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The incumbent will work primarily in an office environment but will be required to travel to various areas within the NYC Metro Area to attend community events, clinics, etc. This role will require commitment to work hours on evenings and weekends.
