Role: Road Specialist

Full Time, Seasonal, Crew Position (Extensive travel)

Start Date – varying- October 6th-October 15th - 2025

End Date – As late as November 26th (Depending on Crew Routing)        

Outside, Inc. is seeking a Tour Specialist to oversee operations of the Warren Miller Entertainment Film Tour.  Warren Miller Entertainment is one of the largest, most established, and successful action sports film companies today, with more than 76 years of snow sports filmmaking experience. The annual Warren Miller Film Tour (from mid-October to late-November) continues the legacy of the brand, reaching more skiers, snowboarders, and outdoor enthusiasts than any other snow sports film to date. 

The primary responsibilities involve the management and execution of the logistics, travel, operations, and finances, projection of the film, emcee work on stage, and brand liaison for our various sponsors. This role is for a multi venue Film Tour. A critical responsibility is ticketing and financial settlement of the shows. This is a crew role that requires the Tour Specialist to be an active leader of a 2-person crew in management of multiple events on a 5–6 week schedule. There will be travel required. An appreciation and familiarity with the winter sports industry and Warren Miller Entertainment is strongly preferred. 

This role is fully mobile with constant travel required and will include sharing lodging/accommodations with another member of the crew.

Basic Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently manage logistics and travel operations for 2-person multi-venue Film Tour ensuring smooth coordination between venues.
  • Operate within budgeted guidelines to maintain the financial viability and profitability of the tour.
  • Daily report completion and review is required.
  • Lifting and transportation of Tour gear – must be able to lift more than 50lbs
  • Assume responsibility for finances, ticking, staffing, theater set-up and day-of show scheduling, overseeing each aspect with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Responsible for finances, ticketing, staffing, theater set-up and day of show scheduling
  • Perform reconciliations of receipts and box office numbers with theaters on the night of each show.
  • Provided comprehensive settlements, recaps, audience feedback and performance results to Outside Events team on a weekly basis.
  • Supervise each crew member, ensuring they execute their duties with precision and professionalism.
  • Oversee local theater staff to guarantee the most successful and flawlessly executed events at each venue.
  • Act as the primary resource for addressing and resolving any issues or problems that may arise during the tour, utilizing the resources of the Film Tour Department when necessary. 
  • Coordinate venue box offices, ticket outlets, off site ticket agents and corporate accounts to maintain complete control over day of event ticket sales and allocations.
  • Demonstrate quick decision-making skills to make on the fly improvements to the tours execution and provide valuable suggestions for future enhancements to the Outside Events team.
  • Work as part of a four-person road crew, collaborating closely with team members to ensure the smooth operation of the tour.
  • Provide a comprehensive post-tour recap to optimize future WME tours for maximum efficiency.

Emcee responsibilities

  • Deliver the custom Event Script with clarity, infusing the appropriate levels of energy and enthusiasm to keep the audience engaged throughout the show.
  • Manage the venue production staff to ensure the highest quality event at each location, working together as an active member of a 4-person crew during multiple events on a 4–6-week schedule.
  • Lifting and transportation of Tour gear – must be able to lift more than 50lbs
  • Handle event prizing and seamlessly integrate sponsors into each event, consistently seeking ways to enhance the presentation and experience for attendees.
  • Provide valuable feedback to WME on show-specific duties, both for pre-show preparation and post-show loadout, contributing to the continuous improvement of the tour experience. Daily report completion and review is required.
  • Facilitate the swift and secure capture of Sweepstakes entrants' information, ensuring prompt transmission to WME and sponsors.
  • Actively promote and enroll new O+ (Outside+) Members, enhancing engagement with our brand and community.
  • Infuse the event atmosphere with enthusiasm and excitement, igniting the audience's passion for winter sports and the WME experience.
  • Work as part of a four-person road crew, collaborating closely with team members to ensure the smooth operation of the tour.
  • Provide a comprehensive post-tour recap to optimize future WME tours for maximum efficiency.
  • Bring the Stoke!

Projectionist responsibilities

  • Compile pre-tour production inventory.
  • Technical knowhow to manage a variety of playback methods.
  • Prep daily schedules for on-site and traveling crew.
  • Provide training for local crews at each venue, ensuring a smooth run of show.
  • Work closely with local theater crews to guarantee the highest quality production for each screening, in line with WME's vision and standards.
  • Prepare show schedules, anticipate technical requirements, and communicate production needs to venue staff.
  • Coordinate day-to-day ground movement, ensuring safe and timely travel between venues. Lifting and transportation of Tour gear – must be able to lift more than 50lbs
  • Organize air cargo or ground shipping arrangements as needed.
  • Daily report completion and review is required.
  • Maintain and operate all equipment with care, conducting regular assessments and reporting status updates.
  • Foster a strong working relationship with the MC (Master of Ceremonies) for a seamless show experience.
  • Offer innovative solutions to overcome production challenges at various venues with different equipment setups.
  • Work as part of a four-person road crew, collaborating closely with team members to ensure the smooth operation of the tour.
  • Provide a comprehensive post-tour recap to optimize future WME tours for maximum efficiency.

Brand Ambassador responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary representative for Outside Interactive and Warren Miller Entertainment and embody our values, mission, and personality. Be knowledgeable about our products or services to effectively communicate their benefits to consumers.
  • Engage patrons and encourage enrollment in the Outside+ program, further enhancing brand loyalty and expanding our community.
  • Lifting and transportation of Tour gear – must be able to lift more than 50lbs
  • Liaise daily with Outside’s Client Success team and their sponsorship contacts prior to events to confirm scheduling and activation needs, ensuring all requirements are met for a seamless partnership experience.
  • Answer customer/sponsor questions, problem solve, and provide follow ups where an immediate answer cannot be given.
  • Execute event setups, including the placement of promotional materials for WME, Outside, and partners, creating an engaging and visually appealing lobby experience for patrons.
  • Ensure that WME and Outside sponsor obligations are met and exceed expectations whenever possible, maximizing brand exposure and fostering strong sponsor relationships.
  • Capture quality photos at each event and while on the road to document the tour experience and enhance our marketing efforts and sponsor satisfaction.
  • Create and submit daily reports to track sponsor activations and feedback for every event. Provide daily photo dumps back to HQ for immediate social publishing. Daily report completion and review is required.
  • Coordinate outside vehicle displays, ensuring that vehicles are presented in a clean, display-worthy manner, representing the brand with excellence.
  • Safeguard the working condition of sponsor materials and ensure their safe return upon completion of the tour, maintaining a high standard of professionalism and responsibility.
  • Manage the safe and secure transportation of all sponsor-related materials between each event and back to headquarters post-tour, ensuring timely and efficient, company approved logistics.
  • Double-check the delivery of the correct pre-show onscreen display to the Projectionist, liaise with the emcee on a complete list of regional and local sponsors, and communicate any changes that may arise.
  • Work as part of a four-person road crew, collaborating closely with team members to ensure the smooth operation of the tour.
  • Provide a comprehensive post-tour recap to optimize future WME tours for maximum efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Excel and Slack is essential for efficient communication and organization.
  • Experience in live event management or production is highly desirable.
  • The successful candidate must be highly motivated, resourceful, detail-oriented and possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive problem solver, capable of thinking critically and providing recommendations for improvements to enhance the overall tour experience.
  • Energetic and passionate individual who thrives in a fast-paced event environment.
  • Display a confident and professional demeanor in all personal, written and phone interactions.
  • We are unable to transfer or sponsor a work visa for this position.

For this seasonal/temporary role you can expect to be paid $1100 per week. In addition, you will be compensated a taxable per diem rate of $70/day for scheduled days actively working on the tour.
