ROKA is looking for a hands-on, strategic finance leader to take ownership of our Finance function. This is a player/coach role - you’ll lead the team while actively participating in accounting operations, month-end close, and financial reporting as well as strategic and financial planning. This role is highly visible and will report directly to the CEO and engage with our Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities
- Accounting Operations Oversight: Lead all accounting operations, including monthly close, financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, and cost accounting, to ensure accurate and timely financial insights. We’re a small team so you’ll be a player and a coach within the accounting function.
- Regulatory and Tax Compliance: Collaborate with tax advisors to manage and ensure compliance with federal, state, and international tax regulations.
- Financial Forecasting and Budgeting: Collaborate with senior leadership on the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts, providing insightful variance analysis to guide and support strategic decision-making.
- Data and Analytics: Partner with external resources to maintain and enhance our business information infrastructure.
- Strategic Leadership: Establish financial and operational guardrails that help guide ROKA’s path to sustainable, profitable growth.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with various departments to support decision making, resource allocation, and financial performance monitoring.
- Team Development: Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, growth, and cross-functional collaboration.
Must Haves
- BA/BS degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
- CPA certified
- Experience in Direct to Consumer or Consumer Packaged Goods business is a plus
- NetSuite experience strongly preferred
- Advanced experience in Excel
- Hands on leader with a player / coach mentality & ability
- Impeccable business judgment, with the ability to motivate colleagues and collaborate effectively to help influence senior leadership
- Comfort working independently with external partners
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment; must manage multiple tasks and juggle several urgent demands at any given point, while adapting to changing priorities
- Deep knowledge of accounting and financial management principles and procedures
- Excellent oral and written communication, analytical and decision-making skills
- Able to present complex financial data easily with graphs, charts and spreadsheets
- Excellent quantitative, written, and presentation skills; innovative, organized, thorough
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Work Location:
ROKA is located in Austin, TX, USA. The Company is on a hybrid work schedule. Candidates must be prepared to work on-site as often as needed per the Department’s business needs. Remote candidates will not be considered for this position.
