Job Description

The Club Business Development team supports the 32-Member Clubs in all aspects of their business operations while serving as liaisons to the Clubs and the League. The team utilizes a combination of analytics and functional expertise in sales and marketing to develop 'next practices' and facilitates the sharing of 'best practices' between clubs.

Club Business Development is searching for a Vice President level leader who will join the group and become a trusted business consultant for all 32 NFL clubs. The Club Consulting team within Club Business Development is the main day-to-day liaison and first point of contact for club leadership on many business matters, and a trusted voice at the league office to help guide business decisions and provide strategic support for club initiatives. This role will also be asked to drive strategy across other key Club and League strategies in support of all 32 clubs, the League Office, and partners. 

Responsibilities

  • Leading team of Account Directors, Account Managers and functional subject matter experts across ticketing, sponsorship, premium seating, fan experience, marketing, digital, and more.
  • Building, owning and cultivating relationships with senior members of club staff (ownership, club presidents, c-suite, leadership across all business verticals) for all-32 teams, including a subset of designated clubs.
  • Advise business strategies to advance the club’s efforts within their local marketplace, including planning & executing regularly scheduled in-market visits across all 32 teams with the goal of identifying opportunities to help grow and support their business.
  • Function as Club Business Development’s day-to-day subject matter expert & lead on ticket sales strategy, supporting all-32 team’s efforts to grow an integral league-wide local revenue stream.
  • Key partner across all Local Business Optimization modeling and action items
  • Key team member in driving future League-wide Ticketing deals and innovation strategy tied to future of Ticketing.
  • Key team member in driving international ticketing strategy.
  • Serve as liaison between League and Clubs by managing key communications and meetings inclusive of leading regularly scheduled all-32 team President meetings as well as Club Spotlight meetings with Ownership and NFL Executive Leadership team.
  • Play a key role in all 32 club and league meetings, workshops and calls inclusive of the Ownership Committee Meetings and the NFL Annual Meeting.
  • Serve as a senior leader within the NFL’s Stadium Strategy working group including meetings with the Commissioner, Club Ownership & Presidents, sports architects and other key vendors.
  • Represent the Club Business Development team at industry conferences throughout the year
  • Oversee the identification and distribution of industry best practices, with a specific focus on targeting examples custom and specific to individual team needs.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Club BD staff to identify industry trends.
  • Meet with and study vendors across entire business to provide introductions and recommendations to clubs.
  • Collaborate with all NFL League Office departments that touch club business, including Club Digital, Media Strategy, Sponsorship, Marketing, Consumer Products, Club & Labor Finance, Data & Analytics, Club Social, and more.
  • Work with Club Business Development analytics staff on reporting, data-led insights, and additional studies/initiatives.
  • Provide senior level oversight of league’s fan experience program and initiatives
  • Drive strategic participation and engagement with clubs around NFL tentpole events.  Those responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Participating Team Oversight & Support (for Super Bowl and International Games), NFL Draft, Schedule Release, Thanksgiving, NFL Flag Championships, Training Camp, Pro Bowl, Back Together Weekend, etc.

Required Skills/Knowledge: 

  • Excellent communication, team building, leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to derive insights from data / analytics / research and present findings to all levels of an organization
  • Ability to anticipate clubs' needs and match them with appropriate work products and/or individuals at the League Office
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, good time management and organizational skills
  • Deep experience in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Social media competency

Experience: 

  • 15+ years of experience similar experience
  • Consulting and/or strategy background is strongly preferred
  • Experience with a sports team, league, agency, or a combination of all is highly advantageous

Educational Background Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in analytics, finance, strategy, and/or management 

Expected Travel:

  • 25% of the time
    • Club markets
    • League meetings and workshops
    • Significant league events (e.g., Super Bowl, Draft, etc.)

Terms /Expected Hours of Work:

NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week in office. Overtime/weekend work as necessary.

Salary / Pay Range:

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials, or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.

Salary
$225,000$270,000 USD
