About the role At the Darwin International Tennis Centre, the heart of our coaching program is our Hotshots tennis so a genuine love for grassroots tennis as well as being comfortable around kids is essential in this role. Other coaching programs would include school tennis delivery, holiday clinics, Adult Beginner and Cardio lessons and private lessons. The role will assist in the overall smooth running of the Junior and Adult Programs at Darwin International Tennis Support along with other tasks as directed by the Head Coach / Centre Manager. The Centre has multiple events throughout the year and assistance during these times would be required as directed by the Head Coach/Centre Manager. In this role you will: Effectively deliver all coaching programs.

Provide effective communication to coaching participants both on and off the court and ensure correct communication procedures are followed.Actively involve all students on court and identify areas of player improvement and skill development. Promote a quality and enriching coaching experience for each student, each lesson. Advise on objectives and key performance measures where programs are not meeting targets. Act as Tournament Director on events run by Darwin International Tennis Centre and support the Tournament Director as required.

About you To be successful in this role you will: Tennis Australia Trainee Coach or the commitment and ability to acquire a Junior Development Coach (level 1) qualification within 12 months Tennis Australian coaching registration – maintained and updated regularly Tennis coaching experience working with all ages and abilities (e.g.

preschoolers through to adults) Awareness and commitment to a game based coaching philosophy Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis NT What’s to love?
