Who You AreMinimum 5 years of professional design experience at a design firm, agency, publication, or media company, with an emphasis on branding, motion identity, and graphic designA natural ability to collaborate with others and thrive under pressureExperience with print design, magazine, book and other printed materialsExperience with Keynote/Google Slides for creating pitches and presentationsA refined, stylish approach to typography and layout compatible with the Complex aestheticStrong written, verbal, and visual communication skillsMust be imaginative, resourceful, and able to handle multiple projects efficiently and to a high standardAbility to work methodically and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentMastery of Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign is a must and the ability to design for a motion graphics workflow is essentialExperience with After Effects and Premiere is highly preferredExperience with Cinema 4D, Sketch, and UI/UX design is highly preferredEffective CommunicatorCollaborativeCultivates Innovation
What You'll Do Work collaboratively within a team environment on numerous design projects across a variety of platforms and applications – show identities, event collateral, product packaging, print etcPerform a leading role in the design of identities for new series, evolve existing franchises, and initiate experiments and explorations for future projectsCreate brand guidelines, templates, and marketing materials for Complex's audience-facing brands and IPCreate editorial artwork for use on the web and across social platformsContribute concept and design work to special projects across a variety of platforms and media, including but not limited to printed books and zines, apparel, and physical and digital exhibitions and installationsOrganize and present creative work for internal and external reviewMaintain a sense of ownership over assigned projects and initiate creative conversations cross-departmentally as neededContribute to an inclusive and supportive team cultureStay up-to-date with current design trends and techniques, sharing information and inspiration with fellow designersHelp identify emerging and established freelance talent when needed We're an equal opportunity employer.
