Stream Hatchet is a leading data analytics company in the esports and gaming streaming industries. It leverages data it obtains from live streaming platforms like Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook to help businesses create actionable intelligence and insights as it relates to go-to-market strategy, content initiatives, and sponsorship measurement.

As a Ruby on Rails Developer, you will help our team build scalable data pipelines, develop APIs and improve data reliability and quality. You will also work side by side with our Engineering and Analysts teams to help assess new data sources and respond to data-related requests.

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or a similar technical field of study.
• +3 years of experience in web development using Ruby on Rails.
• Proficiency in integrating and working with external APIs: Demonstrated ability to interact with, ingest data from, and handle potential issues related to various third-party services. Be familiar with REST protocol and authentication mechanisms like OAuth, API Keys, etc.
• Experience in Elasticsearch: Demonstrated ability to design and implement search features, perform analytics, and manage data.
• Solid understanding of SQL, database design, querying, performance optimization, and managing complex data relationships using SQL (MongoDB, etc.)
• Familiarity with the Akka framework: Experience in building concurrent and distributed applications using Akka, with working knowledge of how it integrates with the Ruby environment.
• Knowledge of Ember.js. will be a plus, but not mandatory.
• Excellent communication in English.
