Job Description

Teamworks, the Operating System for Sports™, powers more than 6,500 sports organizations worldwide, including collegiate athletic departments and teams across all major professional leagues. With almost 500 exceptional employees located in over a dozen different countries, Teamworks’ software solutions drive the operations of the most recognizable sports properties in the world.

We are seeking a Product Manager to join our Wallet team, a fast-growing fintech initiative within Teamworks that's transforming how sports organizations handle payments and financial operations. This role will partner closely with our existing PM to accelerate our roadmap, own day-to-day enhancements and platform operations, and help bring critical new payment capabilities to market.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of athlete compensation and financial management in one of the fastest-growing companies in sports tech.

Game Plan - How You'll Drive Impact:

  • Own platform operations and enhancements: Take ownership of day-to-day product improvements, feature enhancements, and operational workflows that keep Wallet running smoothly for our customers
  • Drive critical integrations: Manage complex relationships and integration cycles with banking partners, tax providers, and other third-party vendors to resolve issues quickly and unlock new capabilities
  • Accelerate time-to-resolution: Reduce engineering ticket volume and cycle time by creating clear, well-defined requirements that engineers can execute against without extensive interpretation
  • Support strategic initiatives: Collaborate with the team on high-priority builds like non-taxable payments (per diem and others) while maintaining momentum on existing product areas
  • Partner across functions: Work closely with engineering, design, go-to-market, and customer-facing teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery
  • Champion customer needs: Get on the phone with athletics department business operations teams, understand their workflows, and translate their needs into practical, achievable solutions
  • Balance constraints with creativity: Navigate the realities of working with regulated financial services while finding innovative ways to deliver value quickly
  • Drive continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve product quality, and enhance the user experience based on data and customer feedback

Player Profile - What You Bring to the Team:

  • Strong execution focus balanced with strategic thinking – you excel at the details, follow-through, and unblocking teams to ship quickly, while keeping sight of long-term objectives
  • Technical fluency and partnership skills – comfortable working with third-party integrations, API documentation, and technical partners to identify root causes and drive resolution, while communicating effectively across engineering and business stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and competing priorities, working effectively in gray areas where requirements evolve and trade-offs must be carefully evaluated
  • Track record of managing expectations and building trust with both internal teams and external customers, balancing customer requests with technical constraints and business realities
  • Humble, resilient, and intrinsically motivated – driven by impact rather than perfect conditions, viewing constraints as creative challenges and maintaining momentum through gritty, hands-on work
  • Strong accountability and ownership mindset – takes initiative to move projects forward, holds yourself to the highest standards, and stays focused on outcomes that matter to users and the business

The Ideal Recruit - Skills & Experience:

  • B2B SaaS product management experience: Proven ability to ship features, manage roadmaps, and work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment (typically 2+ years of PM experience)
  • Small team or startup experience: Thrives in environments where processes aren't fully baked, roles are fluid, and everyone pitches in to get things done
  • Technical fluency: Comfortable reading API documentation, working with engineering teams on technical requirements, and leveraging AI tools to improve productivity and spec quality
  • Finance acumen: Experience with KYC/KYB onboarding, compliance workflows, financial operations, or launching new payment products from 0 to 1
  • Integration and vendor management: Experience managing third-party integrations, working with external partners, and navigating complex technical dependencies
  • Customer-facing skills: Ability to conduct discovery calls, understand business operations workflows, and translate customer needs into actionable product requirements
  • Tooling proficiency: Familiarity with Linear, GitHub, and product management tools (or ability to learn quickly) is a plus
  • Fintech or payments background: Experience working on banking-as-a-service (BaaS) platforms, card programs, payment processing, or other financial services products

Champion Mindset - Traits for Success:

  • Takes initiative and creates momentum without waiting for direction
  • Thrives under pressure and stays focused on results
  • Embraces innovation and solves complex problems with strategic thinking
  • Communicates clearly, builds trust quickly, and leads with enthusiasm
  • Adapts easily in fast-changing environments and welcomes calculated risks
  • Holds themselves and others accountable to high standards
  • Constantly seeks improvement and embraces change as opportunity
  • Aligned with our core values: honesty, humility, hard work, commitment, innovation, and exceptionalism.
