Job Description:
As part of our partnership agreement to deliver growth across the business, including ticketing and premium experiences (Hospitality) for Sail GP, we will be building upon existing strong foundations and adding dedicated sales expertise to focus on supercharging growth for the years to come.
This is a full time role fully embedded in the Sail GP team and be a key part in delivering success across Europe and the Middle East for everything related to Hospitality
SailGP is racing redefined. The world’s most exciting racing on-water, SailGP was established in 2018 and is headquartered in London. The annual, global championship Races for a Better Future accelerating change in everything it does.
The fan-centric, inshore racing takes place among the sport’s top athletes in some of the most iconic harbors around the world and offers the sport’s largest monetary prize. Rival national teams battle it out in identical supercharged F50 catamarans, engineered for intense racing at electrifying speeds exceeding 60 mph/100 kph.
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Premium Experience (Hospitality) Sales Lead to join our Global Ticketing and Hospitality Sales team. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for selling Premium Experiences to both B2B and B2C markets.
The success of this candidate will be judged on the volume of annual tickets sold and revenue generated across races in EMEA, and predominantly focused in Europe.. The candidate will be tasked with developing sales collateral and scaling regional pipelines of ticket purchasers across industries, including an expectation of travel with multiple trips to future race cities to build local sales demand across regional businesses, tourism boards, clubs and community organisations, etc.
The ideal candidate is a natural sales person, with the ability to develop new relationships and positively represent SailGP to key stakeholders across Europe as the key focus. The role will report directly to the Director of Global Ticketing and Hospitality Revenue, accountable for supporting active reporting (total sales, pipeline status, etc).
Must be able to work collaboratively with teams across marketing, operations, and event design teams to define and create assets as needed. A background in hospitality sales and premium experiences is required.
Primary accountabilities of role
● Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through various lead generation methods
● Create compelling sales presentations and proposals tailored to meet the needs of corporate prospects
● Manage negotiations with key clients, closing deals while maximising revenue and meeting targets
● Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects and high-value clients to ensure excellent customer service and retention
● Continuously monitor ticket and hospitality sales trends, competitor offerings, and market demands
● Work closely with SailGP’s Marketing Team to build targeted campaigns that promote opportunities
● Ensure that all delivery of contracts are seamlessly transitioned and set up for event-day success
● Appoint, liaise and manage appointment of 3rd party sales agents, to provide maximal market coverage – especially in the Middle East for year 1
● Travel to meetings, conferences, and events as needed to drive opportunities forward
Primary attributes we’re looking for:
● 5-7 years plus of proven sales experience, ideally in ticket sales, hospitality, or within the sports industry
● Excellent verbal and written communications skills to effectively build and present sales proposals
● Experience in managing high-value clients, including sponsors, corporate partners, and VIPs
● Ability to confidently negotiate contracts and close sales while maximizing revenue
● Proficiency with CRM tools and other software to track performance and manage leads
● Experience working with event teams or managing live event sales
● Ability to work collaboratively with marketing, event, and sponsorship teams to drive sales efforts
