​​About the Role:

 Hims & Hers is seeking experienced and passionate Pharmacist Trainers to join our Learning & Development team for both day shift and night shift positions. This role combines clinical pharmacy expertise with training excellence to develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for our pharmacy teams. The Pharmacist Trainer will ensure all pharmacy personnel are properly trained on pharmaceutical operations, clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, and company procedures. This position plays a critical role in maintaining compliance, quality standards, and operational excellence within our pharmacy operations while supporting a culture of continuous learning and development. Having trainers across both shifts ensures consistent training coverage and support for our 24/7 pharmacy operation. This role is based in New Albany, Ohio, or Gilbert, AZ and will report to the Sr. Pharmacist, Operations.

You Will:

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive training programs for new hire pharmacists, with intensive daily training during the first two weeks and ongoing support thereafter.

  • Create and maintain Visual Training Guides (VTGs) for key pharmacist processes including drug verification, patient counseling, clinical escalations, and error resolution.

  • Assist with the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assessments for pharmacy processes.

  • Schedule and coordinate trainings and onboardings for new pharmacists, maintaining tracking systems to monitor progress.

  • Monitor licensure, certifications, and continuing education (CE) requirements for pharmacy team members, including those with multiple state licenses.

  • Acquire necessary system access for new hires and ensure compliance with annual training requirements.

  • Maintain and update procedural documentation and guidelines as processes evolve.

  • Provide continuous training and development for both new and existing team members to address skill gaps and build confidence in all workflow areas.

  • Develop and implement training for new processes and procedures as they are launched or developed and coordinate training of each pharmacist on the team for these new processes and procedures.

  • Participate in the interview process to provide candidates with insight into the training experience when needed.

  • Collaborate with Pharmacy Leadership, Quality Assurance, and Compliance teams to identify training needs and develop targeted learning solutions.

  • Document all training activities in compliance with regulatory requirements and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

  • Support regulatory inspections and audits by preparing training-related documentation and evidence of compliance.

 

You Have:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree from an accredited institution.

  • Active pharmacist license in good standing.

  • 3+ years of experience as a practicing pharmacist, preferably in a mail-order, telehealth, or specialty pharmacy setting.

  • Experience in training, teaching, or precepting in a pharmacy environment.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy operations, workflows, and quality management systems.

  • Strong understanding of federal and state pharmacy regulations, including DEA requirements, HIPAA, and USP standards.

  • Experience developing and implementing training programs for pharmacy personnel.

  • Strong clinical knowledge to effectively train on Drug Utilization Reviews, drug interactions, contraindications, and patient counseling.

  • Ability to explain complex regulatory and clinical concepts clearly and effectively to new pharmacists.

  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills with an engaging teaching approach.

  • Strong documentation skills and familiarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

  • Experience creating visual training materials and step-by-step guides.

  • Proficiency with learning management systems and digital training tools.

  • Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with learners.

  • Ability to work day shift or night shift hours as needed to support our 24/7 pharmacy operation.

Nice to Have:

  • Balance of people-oriented teaching approach with strong technical and objective assessment skills.

  • Experience with Asana or similar project management tools for tracking training progress.

  • Ability to create effective Visual Training Guides (VTGs) for complex pharmacy processes.

  • Experience with verification processes for automated, semi-automated, and manual dispensing systems.

  • Background in telehealth or digital health pharmacy operations.

  • Experience with controlled substance handling and DEA compliance training.

  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.

  • Experience using Docebo or similar learning management systems.

  • Familiarity with training effectiveness measurement and analytics.

  • Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously and independently.

  • Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.

  • Background in specialty pharmacy, compounding, or other relevant pharmacy specialties.

  • Experience conducting interviews and contributing to the hiring process.

  • Ability to facilitate group discussions and create safe spaces for team development.

Conditions of Employment: 

  • This position will require working with Hazardous Drugs (HD) and would require that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) be worn for the length of working with these drugs. These items would include gloves, respiratory protection, gown and other items as required.

  • This position requires medical approval to wear respiratory protection in the form of negative or positive pressure respirators, including N95, full face respirator, SCBA, or Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).

  • Physical exertion required. Including, but not limited to, walking up to 50% of the time, standing up to 100% of the time, squatting and bending up to 20% of the time and lifting up to 80% of the time for up to a twelve hour shift. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

  • Due to the risk of reproductive capability in handling or compounding certain Hazardous Drugs (HD) associates must be willing to confirm that they understand the potential risks (teratogenicity, carcinogenicity and reproductive effects) of handling hazardous drugs.
