About the role The New Business Development Lead will be responsible for driving the development and execution of new business and upsell strategies across the Australian Summer of Tennis hospitality program (including the United Cup, Australian Open, and AO Series events), as well as additional hospitality products as they evolve. This includes, but is not limited to, seating, dining, experiences, and Premium Experience packages. Reporting to the Sales Manager and working closely with the broader sales team, this role will focus on proactive in-market activity and strategic engagement to identify, qualify, and convert commercial opportunities. In this role you will: Lead the development and delivery of new business and upsell strategies across all hospitality products, including Suites, Premium Experiences, seating, dining, and emerging concepts.
Drive targeted outreach and extensive in-market activity to secure new business by region, industry, and customer segment.Build tailored proposals by conducting discovery sessions, extracting client needs, and presenting compelling solutions to key decision‑makers. Develop communication strategies to re-engage previous purchasers, lapsed clients, and new prospects, driving repeat and incremental revenue. Build and nurture strong client networks and relationships to support long-term commercial growth. Manage the full sales lifecycle — from prospecting, proposal development, and pitching through to negotiation, upselling, closing and contracting. Support additional sales and business initiatives as required by Management.
About you You’ll bring energy, a client-first approach, and a strong understanding of the premium event space.
You will also have: Proven success in business development or B2B sales, ideally in events or hospitality Experience crafting proposals and delivering pitches to senior stakeholders Strong communication and relationship-building skills across diverse networks A proactive and professional approach with attention to detail Ability to deliver on sales targets in a high-performance environment Flexibility to work event hours during peak periods (e.g. evenings, weekends) What’s to love?
