OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Director of Site Merchandising to own and drive our site merchandising strategy, optimizing the digital customer experience to maximize conversion, engagement, and revenue growth. This leader will oversee a team of high-performing, data-driven merchandisers, ensuring seamless execution of site initiatives while identifying strategic opportunities to enhance product discovery and customer journey. The Director will serve as a key cross-functional partner, leveraging data and industry insights to drive continuous improvement and innovation in online merchandising.

RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Own and evolve the site merchandising strategy to accelerate digital growth, drive conversion, and deepen customer engagement—aligning with company objectives and brand vision.
  • Translate business priorities into a strategic site merchandising roadmap, ensuring that digital storytelling, product launches, and key seasonal moments drive commercial impact and elevate the brand experience.
  • Drive site performance optimization by analyzing key metrics (conversion, CTR, traffic, sell-through) and translating insights into actionable improvements across product placement, category structure, and on-site marketing.
  • Champion customer-first merchandising, improving product discoverability through thoughtful navigation, strategic categorization, personalized recommendations, and data-backed product sorting.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, brand, creative, planning, buying, and digital product teams to ensure consistent storytelling and a frictionless digital experience across all customer touchpoints.
  • Innovate with intent, leveraging A/B testing, personalization tools, and emerging technologies to improve site functionality and relevance in real-time.
  • Deliver strategic insights by synthesizing customer behavior, industry trends, and competitive benchmarks to guide product positioning, digital campaigns, and future merchandising investments.
  • Lead and inspire a high-impact team, fostering a culture of performance, curiosity, and continuous learning through mentorship, clear goal setting, and growth opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of experience in site merchandising, e-commerce, or digital marketing, with a proven track record of driving measurable business impact.
  • Strong leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
  • Expertise in e-commerce platforms, web analytics tools (Shopify, Google Analytics, Tableau, Heap), and merchandising technologies (Bloomreach, Optimizely) is a plus
  • Deep analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategies.
  • Experience with A/B testing, personalization, and conversion rate optimization.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and drive cross-functional alignment.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to advocate for merchandising strategies and innovations.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities with a strategic mindset.

The base salary range for this position is $170,000-$190,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company’s total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
