About BreakAway Data:

BreakAway Data is revolutionizing sports performance by connecting athletes with their own data story. We aggregate, visualize, and analyze fitness, performance, and health data to help both professional and aspiring athletes make smarter decisions and reach their full potential. Our platform is already being used by the NBA, ATP, NWSLPA, USA Football and Grand Slam Track and we're just getting started.

Location: Remote or BreakAway Office

Period: 8-10 weeks

Role Overview:

BreakAway has a growing set of design needs to support the development of a web platform that connects directly with an athlete mobile app. We’re creating a robust collection of new assets to support various feature launches in the coming months and will be working on app UI/UX, and providing users with the ability to customize their app experience.

As Design Intern, you'll be a critical member of our product development team working directly with our Chief Brand Officer. You'll have significant influence in shaping the way the team’s product vision comes to life through the assets you create. We move fast, ship frequently, and take pride in solving meaningful problems for our athletes and coaches. We’re looking for someone who thrives in collaborative environments, takes ownership, and is energized by building amazing design assets for the world to engage with in our apps.

What you’ll do:

• Work with our creative team to create the building blocks for our mobile app features and assets

• Create assets in Figma to pass off to our dev team

• Create prototypes for new features in Figma

• Create new motion graphics for our mobile app using Lottie and Rive

• Build out and create new components and elements for the BreakAway team’s design system

• Use AI tools to create new image and SVG assets for our mobile application

What you have:

• Experience working with Figma to create new components, applying variables, and working with and

• Experience creating new assets and interactive experiences for users in-app using tools like Rive and Lottie

• Experience using AI tools to create specific assets based on solid prompts, meeting requirements for mobile use

• Ability to work in a collaborative environment and on multiple projects simultaneously within a product driven, fast-paced environment

• Nice to have: building elements for a design system within Figma, interest in learning from and teaching other team members how to better use Figma features

• Bonus: experience in mobile development (React Native), familiarity with sport collectible and memorabilia design and/or a personal interest in sports, fitness, or athlete performance data.
