We are hiring for a Catering Operations Lead to join our Event Operations team to deliver the Australian Open 2026. This is a full-time fixed-term contract until March 2026. As this is a seasonal role, we require full availability and flexibility across the summer months, December – February. If you're ready to help us serve up real impact, we’d love to hear from you. About the role As Catering Operations Lead, you will be leading the delivery and continuous improvement of catering services for the Australian Open (AO) and associated events. In this role you will: Lead the execution of all catering operations, aligning Tennis Australia and catering partners to deliver exceptional service and operational outcomes Oversee end-to-end delivery of AO food, dining, and restaurant operations – including feasibility, contracting, planning, bump-in, event delivery, and bump-out Coordinate event kitchen operations, partnering with site infrastructure teams to ensure timely setup and readiness Manage catering budgets and cost centres, including the AO Electronic Meal Allowance and At Cost catering budgets – driving transparency, efficiency, and year-on-year savings Champion compliance and communication, liaising with internal teams, councils, and vendors to uphold all operational and safety standards About you To be successful in this role you will have: Proven experience in large-scale catering operations or major event delivery, with strong commercial and financial acumen Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets, control costs, and make sound operational decisions in complex environments Excellent prioritisation and judgement skills, with the ability to balance multiple deadlines under pressure Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and project management tools such as Monday.com Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis Australia What’s to love?
