Position Summary:

Excel Sports Management is seeking an experienced coordinator to support our current Hospitality clients. This person is passionate about events, creative ideation, developing concepts, and executing with excellence. This person is willing to roll their sleeves up to handle all tasks whether big/small or exciting/mundane. This person is coachable, willing to learn, flexible, and have a multi-faceted skillset. We expect the ideal candidate to be someone who is a self-starter and team player. This role will be based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day management of key clients’ hosting initiatives including strategy development, providing end-to-end hospitality solutions and event management
  • Build and maintain positive client relationships that result in increased reliance upon Excel which lead to increased scope and revenue to the agency
  • Interact daily with clients and all appropriate agencies/properties to support hospitality initiatives
  • Develop ideas for engaging event branding, collateral, and on-site materials
  • Create planning tracking tools and on-site materials: rooming lists, confirmation documents, food and beverage schedule, transportation manifest, etc.
  • Support event portfolio analysis, identifying relevant opportunities that support strategic recommendations for the clients
  • Manage the client-vendor relationships ensure that all deliverables are executed to the clients standards
  • Create event briefs, recaps, event itineraries and staff plans
  • Prepare for client status calls including scheduling and preparing agendas or status documents
  • Provide on-site support of hospitality events
  • Support event ROI/measurement processes from initial event development to post event reporting
  • Provide budget management oversight including building and reconcile of budgets, along with providing client budget updates along each step of the process
  • Understand the businesses and industries of our clients and focus on creating the best opportunities for the brand and our business
  • Provide account leadership and support of the junior staff
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience planning and executing high-level corporate events, experience working with clients in the financial services industry a plus
  • Experience working with a variety of vendor types: hotel, transportation, catering, production, etc.
  • Experience managing day-to-day relationships with clients, agencies, and vendors

The pay range for this position is $62,500 - $70,000 per year. This position is also eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus.

Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
