The Opportunity

Our Analytics team is growing and we're looking for a Senior Marketing Analyst to join us in our mission to help people get their best sleep. This experienced marketing analyst will be at the heart of our data driven marketing team. The ideal candidate is self-driven and will leverage superb technical, communication, and problem-solving skills to drive analytically sound recommendations to efficiently increase our marketing investments and understand our customers. You will partner with leaders across the organization as you work on mission critical projects such as lifetime value and marketing attribution frameworks. This role will challenge you to think strategically and contribute to high-level discussions across the organization.

This role will report to the  Director of Marketing Analytics. This person must be based in the United States or Canada. Hatch is based out of California, so this role would be asked to be available during PST/PDT hours.

What You’ll Do

Within 3 Months:

  • Build a solid understanding of our marketing strategy and current data streams.
  • Know the company strategies and success metrics like the back of your hand.
  • Perform ad hoc deep-dives to analyze problems and opportunities, identify the hypothesis, and design and execute experiments to meaningfully improve customer experience and meet business goals.
  • Start using your innate critical thinking skills to help elevate our analytic discussions and approach.
  • Become a trusted partner that delivers actionable learnings and insights for your Marketing partners and other cross-functional partners.

Within 6 Months:

  • Utilize data engineering skills to synthesize large amounts of data from disparate sources (e.g., google analytics, app usage data, advertising platforms) into actionable insights and recommendations that enable the marketing team to optimize marketing spend, conversion, retention & LTV
  • Develop and maintain dashboards for omni-channel marketing programs, including KPI and measurement development, in-market optimization, post-campaign reporting & media mix modeling.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (e.g., finance, marketing & product) to develop and evolve LTV and marketing attribution frameworks.
  • Be a thought leader, ask the right questions and deliver ad-hoc analysis and insights to help answer those questions.
  • Surface insights and present results to business leaders using a variety of tools – Google Analytics, Google Slides, spreadsheets, etc.

After 1 Year:

  • Assist in the design and execution of projects designed to better understand our customer base and the market (NPS, subscriber satisfaction, etc.)
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Product organizations during all points of the product and feature life cycle including performance analysis, customer satisfaction.
  • Find opportunities for improvement and assist in decision-making across teams
  • Tell digestible stories to internal stakeholders with data; build polished, scalable, insightful decks/spreadsheets that benchmark performance and emphasize insights &  recommendations.

What You’ll Bring

  • 4+ years of business analytics experience, with a strong understanding of advertising/marketing business objectives and dynamics
  • Experience with consumer ecommerce business
  • Experience in attribution, MMM modeling, experimentation, incrementality studies and lifetime value modeling.
  • Data engineerAdvanced SQL skills and experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data
  • A deep understanding of statistical analysis, algorithms, experiment design, and common pitfalls of data analysis.
  • Solid mix of quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Fluency with data, analytics, and visualization platforms & technologies.
  • Expertise in marketing data platforms e.g. Google Ad, Meta Business Manager, Google Analytics etc.
  • Intellectual curiosity: You have a natural desire to learn new things, understand the inner workings, and take a deep dive into the data that helps us better understand our business and helps us achieve our goals.
  • Excellent communication skills: You analyze, tell the story (what happened and why), and recommend what should be done based on these insights.
  • Self-starting attitude: You drive projects from start to finish with minimal guidance and a focus on improving the customer experience.
  • A passion for collaboration: You work effectively with teammates and win trust quickly.
  • Customer empathy: You believe in using data to better understand customer behavior so that we can deliver value to Hatch users.
