THE ROLE

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Associate, Lab Technician (QC) to join our growing Quality team in Ogden, Utah at AG1’s QC lab facility. Reporting to the QC Lab Manager, your primary responsibilities will revolve around performing general lab activities in addition to conducting basic chemical testing on a variety of dietary supplement and ingredient substances, including raw ingredients, finished products, and stability samples. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional organizational skills, thrives in collaborative environments, and has a deep passion for chemistry, food science, and laboratory operations.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Support in conducting basic chemical analytical testing on samples submitted to the laboratory using official documented test methods.
  • Maintain full traceability of analysis, including documenting all testing and related activities by means of lab notebooks, reports, logbooks, etc.
  • Operate a variety of instrumentation and lab equipment including FTIR, HPTLC, lab hoods, balances, pipettes, and glassware to ensure accurate testing procedures.
  • Support in coordinating 3rd party testing and managing in-house stability studies
  • Accurately interpret and report test data as indicated in AG1’s ingredient specifications, ensuring consistency and reliability.
  • Work at a steady pace to deliver test results promptly.
  • Assist in handling and preparing reagents, solvents, and solutions, while maintaining an organized chemical inventory.
  • Collaborate with other members of the QC lab team to execute initiatives and troubleshoot issues.
  • Uphold cleanliness and organization within the lab and work areas, ensuring that all equipment is properly clean, stored, calibrated and maintained for optimal performance.
  • Assist in the organization and management of raw material inventory, including proper storage and labeling of materials.
  • Communicate and coordinate with cross-functional teams including RNI and the AG1 Product Development Lab.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 1-2 years of laboratory experience, preferably in the nutraceutical or pharmaceutical fields.
  • B.S. Degree in Chemistry or a related physical science field or working towards.
  • Understands basic laboratory techniques and equipment operation, showcasing the ability to effectively utilize instrumentation and conduct analytical testing.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to follow precise instructions and protocols.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities, facilitating collaboration with colleagues.
  • Dedication to maintaining a safe and clean work environment, prioritizing the well-being of oneself and others in accordance with established safety protocols and regulations.

The Laboratory Technician will work in a laboratory setting, with regular exposure to chemicals, raw materials and ingredients used in quality control. The position may require occasional lifting of materials up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn as necessary to ensure safety.

AG1 is dedicated to providing equitable and competitive compensation & benefits packages. For this particular role, the base salary range is $38,000 - $62,500 and will ultimately be decided at the offer stage, based on an individual candidate’s level of skills and experience aligned with the needs of this role. Base salary is only one component of total compensation for this position. We provide a competitive mix of base salary, performance bonus, and stock option allocation for eligible roles.
